After leaving high school, I attended El Camino College graduating in 1973. I then went to UCLA for 2 years. I left UCLA in May of 1975 when I decided I did not want to become a teacher. I decided I was going to become an Air Traffic Controller. I joined the U. S. Army to receive training in the ATC field. I was the honor graduate from my class and received a promotion prior to my first assignment. I was assigned to Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia. I completed my three year enlistment and received my discharge from the Army. At that time I applied to join the FAA. While waiting to be hired I went back for my senior year of college and I received my BA degree from California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).
